Modular Typeface

This project explores the construction of a display typeface using a limited set of geometric modules. Each letterform is built from repeated shapes arranged within a consistent grid system.

I focused on creating a fluid, oceanic movement in the forms through the use of negative space and curved forms, balancing structure with visual cohesion. A challenge was maintaining legibility while working within these modular constraints, requiring a focus in how each letter was acting within the system.

The final typeface is intended for large-scale display use. As an example, I applied it to a storefront signage mockup to demonstrate how I visualize its impact in context.
