Designing SITES sustainability signage for Austin parks
As a member of wkrm, a student-run, faculty-lead design studio at the University of Texas at Austin, we designed a signage system for the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department that communicated sustainability initiatives and stories across Austin’s public parks.
As part of the content strategy team, I developed a scalable SITES signage library that organized different sign types based on context and use, while ensuring all written content followed a consistent voice guide and writing rules for future implementation.
Our team also designed the visual language of the signs, making intentional decisions about color, typography, hierarchy, and composition to improve accessibility, engagement, and public understanding of these sustainability stories.
